Final Goodbye from Emesha

7/24/2015

Good afternoon,

I am sending this email with a heavy heart and many sad emotions. I have been getting very emotional about leaving these past few days. I know that I am so sad to leave because this community has had such a huge impact on me as well as all the amazing community members that make Reedsport so special. You have all taken me in and believed in me and the Program.

I am blown away when I think about all that we have accomplished through the Main Street Program in under a year. We have raised over $31,000 towards community projects, had over 40 volunteers actively support Program efforts, and developed and completed numerous revitalization projects. The banners are going up, the engraved bricks are arriving on Monday, the Façade Improvement Program was a huge success, we have a website and marketing campaign, we hosted our Open House Event, we have cleaned up areas around the community, decorated storefronts, and have increased our efforts to make Reedsport bike friendly! These are only a few of the many projects the Program has undertaken.

I will never forget Reedsport and all of the special friendships I have made along the way. Thank you all for believing in me and this Program and for giving me one of the best experiences of my life. I have learned so much and will take away far more than I ever expected. Thank you for all your patience and support and for impacting my life in an unforgettable way. This will not be the last of me! I will be back at some point in the future! If you are ever on the east coast, please look me up. There aren’t too many Emesha Jacksons in New Jersey.

I am very excited to announce that a Reedsport resident, Katie Lockard, is going to be taking over as the Main Street Coordinator starting in September. She is the BEST person to carry the torch and we could not have picked a better candidate! Katie has an amazing skillset with a very strong background and experience that will carry this Program and its efforts to new levels. We all have full faith and confidence in her and cannot wait to see all that the Program accomplishes in year two!

I wish you all the best in your future endeavors and plan on coming back to Reedsport in the future. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you all again soon.

All the best,

Emesha Jackson
Main Street Program Coordinator
