Banner Project
This project has been completed through the tireless efforts of volunteers who have confidence in the future of Reedsport. A professional graphic designer originally from Reedsport worked with the RMSP logo, along with feedback from our committees, to create our banner designs. The original banners were printed by Signs and Shirts Unlimited, a Reedsport business that acquired new equipment and learned new skills specifically for this project, now giving them the opportunity to expand their business to more customers.
We raised more than half the funds needed to purchase and place these banners in all three commercial districts by donations through our main street bricks. Downtown, midtown, and uptown banners have been put into place! The banners were redesigned in 2019 to commemorate the Centennial Celebration of the City, originally incorporated in 1919.
In 2020, Winter themed banners flew in downtown for the first time and sparked a fund drive to see the same themed banners in uptown. The program continues to accept donations for the current and future care of these banners. With your help, we can ensure all three commercial districts in Reedsport have colorful banners to create a more attractive business district and attract more visitors and customers to our local businesses.
We would like to thank the following sponsors for their donations to our Holiday Banners:
Laskey-Clifton Corporation
J Whitaker
Coast Diesel and Automotive Repair
First Interstate Bank
Sugar Shack Bakery
Lower Umpqua Hospital
Southern Oregon Sanitation
Reedsport Mail and Ship
Robert Mans
Robb Crocker
Our banner's not only give information but they also help shape and share a piece of our town's identity. From the fishing industry, our logging history and the ATV riders that come to play, a well done banner makes people smile and feel a sense of joy about where they are and what they belong to.
